Our range of residential language courses is designed for linguists of all abilities. Stay with us for a week in the beautifully tranquil surround of Gladstone’s Library, perfect for study, and leave able to translate and converse.
If you have an interest in biblical texts, we’ve Greek and Hebrew courses. For those wishing to progress their studies in Latin, how about Latin in a Week? Or, for those with a desire to converse more fluently in a language a little closer to home, try Welsh in a Week and leave able to carry on a conversation!
All courses are available as either a residential or a non-residential option. For residents, all meals and accommodation is included and Hawarden is particularly beautiful in late summer with the woods and the Hawarden estate to explore. Pick up a drink from the honesty bar and converse with your fellow residents in the stunning Arts and Crafts common room into the evening. For non-residents, use of the Library facilities comes with the package and free time for a wander is built in! For both options, there is ample opportunity to meet likeminded individuals and enjoy relaxation and dialogue – either in your native or most recently-learned tongue!

Greek in a Week
1st – 7th August 2016
Kalyan Day teaches New Testament Greek in this week-long course.
Ideal for those wishing to learn New Testament Greek or for those wanting to revise or improve their knowledge of it.
No prior knowledge of Greek is assumed -all we ask is that you try to learn the Greek alphabet before you arrive.

Latin Second Steps
5th – 9th September 2016
Aimed at those who have completed Latin in a Week or have knowledge of Latin to GCSE standard.
You will start reading and understanding extracts from the poets, comic playwrights and prose writers of Classical Latin literature.
