What makes Food for Thought special compared to other cafés in the area? If you fancy a change from your usual café scenery, our Food for Thought bistro is perfect for you. Enjoy lunch with us, or just pop in for a cup of tea or coffee! In the hottest days of spring and summer, why not take your tray out into the sunshine and relax at one of our outdoor tables? Our food is locally-sourced and freshly cooked; our homemade Gladstone biscuits are a real favourite and go down a treat with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
Food for Thought is open 10am - 5pm seven days a week. Lunch is served 12noon – 2pm, but don’t worry if you miss this as we serve a yummy Afternoon Tea Monday – Friday, 3pm - 4pm. We also serve traditional Sunday Lunch. If you're staying with us you can enjoy dinner in the evenings 6.45pm - 7.15pm - prices from £7.50 for main courses and £2.95 for dessert. Complimentary tea / coffee is served in the common room to follow.

'It's rare that you get to feed both your head and your belly when you go to a restaurant but that’s exactly how my wife and I felt after we’d popped into Gladstone Library’s Food For Thought cafe...'
