Gladstone’s Library has received funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to undertake a pilot project to engage 16 to 24-year-olds with Gladstone’s Library and its collections. The project aims to help young people critically engage with historical sources and modern issues in a fun and challenging way.

Mae Llyfrgell Gladstone wedi cael cyllid gan Gronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol i gynnal prosiect peilot i alluogi pobl ifanc 16-24 oed i ymgysylltu â Llyfrgell Gladstone a’i chasgliadau. National Heritage Memorial Fund
Restoration and Repairs at Gladstone’s Library
Thanks to support from the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF), the Library will be making major repairs to our historic listed building from late 2024 to mid-2025.
The restoration and repair work will focus on the Library’s roof and main entrance porch.
We will be sharing regular updates about the project on our website and social media. Any relevant announcements will be shared with readers and guests in advance whenever possible.
This work is vital for the Library and will help to safeguard the building for future readers, writers, and researchers. Please speak to a member of staff if you have any questions or would like further details.
Adfer ac Atgyweirio yn Llyfrgell Gladstone
Diolch i gefnogaeth Cronfa Goffar Dreftadaeth Genedlaethol (NHMF), bydd y Llyfrgell yn gwneud gwaith atgyweirio mawr ar ein hadeilad rhestredig hanesyddol rhwng diwedd 2024 a chanol 2025.
Bydd y gwaith adfer ac atgyweirio yn canolbwyntio ar dor Llyfrgell a phorth y brif fynedfa.
Byddwn yn rhannur wybodaeth ddiweddar am y prosiect yn rheolaidd ar ein gwefan ac ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol. Bydd unhy ddatganiadau perthnasol yn cael eu rhannu a darllenwyr a gwesteion ymlaen llaw pan fo modd.

The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust (NMCT)
Gladstone’s Library has received funding from The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust (NMCT) to help conserve 20+bundles of letters linked to the Gladstone family’s historical role in enslavement in the Caribbean, 1817-1881.
Yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol Cadwraeth Llawysgrifau
Mae Llyfrgell Gladstone wedi cael cyllid gan yr Ymddiriedolaeth Cadwraeth Llawysgrifau Genedlaethol i helpu i ddiogelu 20 a mwy o fwndeli o lythyrau sy’n gysylltiedig â rôl hanesyddol teulu Gladstone mewn caethwasiaeth yn y Caribî rhwng 1817 a 1881.

The new outdoor bicycle rack at Gladstone’s Library was made possible thanks to support from Flintshire County Council’s Community Chest grant scheme (2024).
