Books and Food

We have a number of new events starting at the Library in February that we hope you will all come and take part in.

Starting on February 12th, we are introducing a traditional Sunday Carvery to our Food for Thought menu. The carvery will be served every Sunday from 12 noon until 2pm with delicious roast meats alongside a vegetarian option.

To start things off, we are offering a special package throughout February of a 2-course Sunday lunch for £10 per person including coffee/tea and an optional guided tour of the Library. Bookings should be placed before 4.30pm on the Friday prior to the Sunday that you wish to visit. To book, e-mail [email protected] or call 01244 532350.

Our second new venture of the month is ideal for people interested in literary fiction who would like to have the opportunity to discuss past, present and future literary classics. The Library is starting its first book group, which is called Seriously Books.

The first meeting will be held at Gladstone’s Library on Monday 13th February at 7.30pm where the first two books will be chosen. The following meetings will be held on the second Monday of every month and will alternate between contemporary and classic literary fiction.

Anyone wishing to find out more about the book group or to register their interest in joining should e-mail Louisa Yates on [email protected]
