Statement regarding the inclusion of Gladstone's Library imagery within UKIP Manifesto

Today Gladstone’s Library was surprised and perturbed to find itself in the UKIP 2016 Welsh Assembly Election Manifesto which was released last Friday, 15th April.

Imagery of the Library building and the statue of its founder, William Gladstone, has been included in a misleading manner and without prior written permission from the Library.

Peter Francis, Warden of Gladstone’s Library, says:

‘Inclusion of this imagery gives the impression that Gladstone’s Library is supportive of UKIP and its policies. This is not the case. Indeed, as an institution, Gladstone’s Library would like to reiterate that it supports no political party.
