Online booking for this event is now closed. To book please call 01244 532350.

10am

Participants in this masterclass will explore how to structure a play using both traditional and experimental forms, looking at the impact structure has on the story being told and how, rather than something to be feared, structure can actually help writers get over the fear of the blank page and start writing. Central to the day will also be an exciting session learning how to create drama that leads with engaging characters, exploring backstory, allowing them to collide and most importantly, look at what it means to write characters that actors can play.

Lisa Parry is a playwright, based in Cardiff. Her new piece The Merthyr Stigmatist will be staged at The Sherman in October as a co-production with Theatre Uncut. Her work has been produced at The Barbican, The Sherman, Wales Millennium Centre and Martin E Segal Theater (NYC). Lisa has been a contributor discussing the Welsh arts scene for BBC Radio 4.

Tickets are priced at £36 which includes lunch and tea / coffee.  Online booking for this event is now closed. To book please call 01244 532350.
