2017 Writers in Residence Launch Evening

Join us at the National Liberal Club in London for the official launch of our 2017 Writers in Residence programme. 

Now into its sixth year, the Writers in Residence scheme was established by Gladstone’s Library and salonnière and author of Maggie and Me, Damian Barr.

Our four Writers in Residence for 2017 are:

  • William Atkins (The Moor: A Journey into the English Wilderness)
  • Rowan Hisayo Buchanan (Harmless Like You)
  • Ruth Scurr (John Aubrey: My Own Life)
  • Penny Boxall (Ship of the Line)

Our two Political Writers in Residence for 2017 are:

  • James Kirchick (The End of Europe: Dictators, Demagogues and the Coming Dark Age)
  • Caroline Shenton (The Day Parliament Burned Down)
