MYTH and MAGIC for MIDSUMMER with MELLT the Storyteller

16 August @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

£15.00
Chapel

Following her sell-out December performance of Tales for Midwinter and the Festive Season, Mellt the Storyteller returns to enthral us with Tales of Myth and Magic for Midsummer, leaving behind the Frost Fair and the Winter Queen and taking us on a mythic journey through the Summer landscape and the Summer Solstice to recount how a magical object came into her keeping, telling the poignant plight of The Moon in Chains, bringing us her poetic tale of The Maiden of the White Vine, and more.

A native of North Wales, Mellt draws her inspiration from the legends of her homeland, from her own encounters with the natural world and its stories, from modern life with all its contradictions and intrigue, and from snippets overheard in passing which yield unexpected treasure.

Her storytelling style is theatrical, innovative and varied. She has worked in collaboration with other performers, adding to her telling with dance, physical theatre, drumming, music, song, spoken chant and mime, and likes to push the boundaries of her craft in whatever new ways offer themselves to her.
